We are an average family, who live in an average house in an average area of the UK with average children who go to an average school.
In June of 2015 we made the decision to home school our eldest daughter (we will call her Elsa on this site). At the start of this process, Elsa is eight years old. Our other daughter, Anna, is three years old. We will send Anna to nursery while we get to grips educating Elsa, but we may well end up educating Anna at home too.
There was no single reason to make this significant change to our lives, rather there were several smaller reasons which, when all were considered together, put us on this path to home schooling.
If you want to find out more about these reasons, look at the ‘Ramblings’ category of our blog.
This web site, Home School Journal (HSJ), is a resource which we will use to log some of our home schooling ideas. If it assists or inspires others along the way than that is a fortuitous consequence.
